In partnership with The Smallpeice Trust, The Arkwright Trust is aiming to increase to 200 the scholarships it offers to A-level design and technology students intending to take engineering or technology at university. The winner of the Wellcome Trust’s Science on Stage and Screen competition was an online resource service at www.scienceweb.org.uk which provides support for primary science teachers, parents and children. Its downloadable teaching materials were developed in conjunction with the Association for Science Education and there are details of science-orientated trip venues, links to relevant research and a pupils’ questions section where answers are supplied by a real scientist.
