A multidisciplinary microscopy centre, housing a scanning electron microscope and advanced video light microscopy, was opened at Sevenoaks (Senior Independent) School, Kent, last November. Other schools from prep to secondary are welcome to visit or attend an instruction class and will be able to access the images it generates on the website currently being prepared. The project is funded by BP. Anyone can nominate a teacher for one of five pound;250 prizes with pound;500 to be spent in the winners’ schools and an expenses-paid visit to the annual meeting of the Association for Science Education in January.
