Injured by bolt from the blue

AS ONE of the OU’s primary PGCE casualties, I feel very disheartened. Having taken the decision two years ago to retrain as a primary music teacher I worked extremely hard to gain a place on this excellent course.

I was awaiting my letter of confirmation from the OU, having successfully completed forms; detailed checks and a final interview. Instead came this bolt from the blue, along with a letter recommending me to any future PGCE course providers.

I keep hearing that schools are crying out for primary music teachers. Was there really no alternative to suspending this course, and why were we not warned? Perhaps change is almost too quick these days.
