Inspect the inspectors? Challenge accepted

I read Michael Cladingbowl’s letter with incredulity. Is he seriously suggesting that Ofsted inspections are not data-led? No one in the teaching profession would believe that for a moment. More often than not, schools are judged on data and little else.

Forgive me if I’ve missed them, but I can’t recall a single letter in TES praising the work of Ofsted or proving that it has done anything but damage the profession.

Mike Kent is well known as one of few heads who have successfully challenged Ofsted. He is widely read because he tells it like it is, and teachers nod in agreement. I strongly urge him to take up Mr Cladingbowl’s invitation and report back to us.
