A national pay strike today by up to 1,000 Ofsted inspectors is not expected to affect schools. Nurseries and boarding establishments, however, can relax for one day without fear of their arrival. Helga Pile, of Unison, said inspectors had been pushed to breaking point by Ofsted demanding more work for less pay. “If they want to ensure the safety of every baby in nursery, every child in care and each teenager in boarding school, they need to fund the inspections system properly,” she said.
