Some children simply love being at school. Cherie Blair, the Prime Minister’s wife, reveals in The TES magazine this week just how much she loved it.

Not only was she inspired by a multi-talented primary school teacher, but she shared a first kiss with his son.

Mrs Blair, better known as barrister and judge Cherie Booth QC, traces her passion for acting and public speaking back to a primary school teacher, Denis Smerdon. A former Second World War pilot, he combined teaching with semi-professional acting and singing.
