I WAS very interested to read your coverage of the departure of Chris Woodhead which was excellent in the main.

However, I could not help noticing one particular sentence in an article on page 4, which read: “On Wednesday morning Mr Woodhead traded insults with MPs on the Commons education select comittee.”

I do not think that any reading of the evidence taken at that session bears this comment out, and I am confident that you will agree when you see the corrected transcripts which will be made public in a couple of weeks time.

Barry Sheerman MP

House of Commons, London SW1A
