The Learning Library, based in south London, continues to attract unwanted attention over its practice of offering interest-free credit to its bookkeeping students through its in-house money-lending operation Empress Finance.

Readers of FE Focus will know The Learning Library has lost most of its contracts with further education colleges. It is now in the sights of the Office of Fair Trading, which says it is “minded to refuse” the company’s licence to operate as a loan firm, which is held in the name of Olivia Susan Webb.
