Earlier this year the Museum of Antiquities at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne created a resource pack for teaching about Roman Britain. Originally pound;25, the whole resource is now free to download in pdf format. “This way to the Northern Frontier” contains three modules covering looking into the past, Celtic Britain and Roman Britain. Each module is broken down into lesson plans and gives additional resources for teaching the topic. The project gives examples of how it can be linked to literacy, numeracy, thinking skills and science, as well as worksheets and further activities.
