From September this year it became compulsory for schools to incorporate work-related learning into the curriculum at key stage 4. To encourage that principle, the Workplace Science Challenge has been set up for students in Years 7 to 10 to increase their interest in science and improve their employability. To take part, students (in small groups) pick an investigation from the topics: chemicals, food and drink, ports and logistics, bioscience, digital industries, and advanced manufacturing and engineering. Using information on the website, they design a poster to illustrate what they learned about the investigation. Teachers can chose the best two posters in each year group and send them to Workspace Science Challenge.
