Scotland’s pupils are being offered the chance to win iPods and internships with the country’s leading independent investment manager in exchange for their thoughts on climate change.

Investment management company Baillie Gifford wants to hear what young people think about global warming and how it should be tackled, so it can make the right investments in future. The firm is looking for pupils aged 15 and above to write 800-1,000-word essays answering one of these questions:

- Do you believe technology can solve global warming?

- “Wind turbines might save the planet, but they ruin the look of the countryside.” Should we take this argument seriously?

- How can we fight climate change if we need our economy to keep growing?

Top prize is an iPod Touch and a trip to Edinburgh to spend a day’s internship with Baillie Gifford, to experience how the opinions are put to use.

Closing date for entries is April 1. For more information or to email entries, contact: climatechange@bailliegifford.com.
