STUDENTS at almost half of teacher-training institutions get less arts tuition than five years ago, a survey shows. Of 80 providers polled, the number offering art and design or music as a specialist subject had fallen from 55 to 31 since 1998. But new teacher-training regulations introduced in September are prompting some providers to increase arts tuition, according to Wednesbury education action zone.
