I TAKE exception to the comments ascribed to Richard Rieser (TES, November 26) that the greatest obstacle to disabled children in the classroom was the attitude of headteachers and the staff in school.
I am headteacher of a primary with currently over 10 per cent of its roll in an additional provision within, not attached, to the school.
I regret to advise Mr Rieser that it is a matter of money, not for awareness training but for the training of quality classroom support and their maintenance on guaranteed contracts for the time of a pupil’s life in any school.
