It’s lonely at the top, say heads

Almost half of new headteachers feel lonely in the job, a National College for School Leadership survey shows. The poll of 311 heads, who have been working for less than two years, found that 40 per cent do not have a mentor they can turn to for professional support. Nearly a third who did have help said it was inadequate.
