‘Twas brillig, and the slithy Gove

Did gyre and gimble in the House:

All mimsy were the LibDem slaves,

And the Daily Mail did louse.

“Beware the GC-SE, my son!

The questions weak, the hope they snatch!

Beware the NVQ and shun

The spurious standards catch!”

He took his Bible in his hand;

Long time the GC-SE he sought -

Then rested he by the diddledum tree,

And stood a while in thought.

And, as in oafish thought he stood,

The GC-SE, with eyes aflame,

Came whiffling through the old dead wood,

And boasted as it came!

One, two! One, two! Makes seven he said.

The Bible of King James went crack!

He left the GC-SE for dead,

And went prancing smugly back.

“And hast thou slain the GC-SE?

Come to my arms, my smuggish boy!

O Bible day! King James, hooray!”

He chortled in his joy.

‘Twas brillig, and the slithy Gove

Did gyre and gimble in the House:

All mimsy were the LibDem slaves,

And the Daily Mail did louse.
