A job for a mortgage

Q: I want to buy a house in September. Will I need a permanent contract to be allowed a mortgage?

A: It would be easier if you had a permanent contract. What lenders want to know is that you will be able to cover the loan repayments. It seems unlikely that without some sort of job offer for September, you will be able to find any sort of mortgage. That said, even if teaching posts are in short supply, you have lots of people skills and a degree, so finding some work should not be a problem while looking for a teaching post.
