Young people are bearing the brunt of rising employment, according to the lobbying organisation Unemployment Unit. The number of claimants aged under 25 went up by 32,000 between April and June, although the headline count (all ages) went down. All regions showed an increase, with the exception of East Anglia, which had no change. The sharpest increases were in Scotland (up by 8 per cent) and Northern Ireland (20 per cent).
