Graduate starting salaries rose to pound;22,000 this year as firms competed to fill more job vacancies. The number of graduate-level jobs jumped 11.3 per cent from 2004, the research from the Association of Graduate Recruiters showed. This meant less competition for jobs and higher starting salaries, which rose 4.8 per cent to pound;22,000 across the country and pound;26,500 in London.
