CHILDREN under five should be protected from adverts promoting junk food and fizzy drinks, MPs will be told next week. Debra Shipley, Labour MP for Stourbridge, wants to use a 10-minute Rule Bill to ban advertising of food and drink during television programmes aimed at pre-school children.

Cadbury has been criticised for a scheme where schools obtain sports equipment in return for vouchers printed on chocolate wrappers.
