Poor William Wilberforce has had many untrue and unfair things said about him, but surely none so blatantly untrue as the allegation that he was “not against slavery”. I hope this was an error by your journalist, not the Association for the Study of African, Caribbean and Asian Culture and History. Wilberforce devoted his life to the attack on slavery.
