(Photograph) - Kate Clanchy will be Jo Shapcott’s successor as guest poet next term. She has had a remarkable success with her first collection, Slattern, and holds the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, the Saltire Prize for Scottish first book of the year and the Somerset Maugham Award. She has been a teacher for eight years and takes poetry workshops with people of all ages.

Please send poems as quickly as possible to The TES, Admiral House, 66-68 East Smithfield, London E1 9XY, giving the poet’s name and age, the name and address of the school and the name of the submitting teacher. Poems should not be longer than 20 lines and must be the pupil’s own work. Poems cannot be returned.
