At the end of his excellent article on the “senseless census” schools are required to fill in, Mike Kent says, “I seem to recall that laptops and CDs containing highly confidential information have a habit of getting left in cabs and trains ...” (“Senseless census strikes back”, February 5).

Andrew George, West Yorkshire.
