Sean: They work. Like, they write down about stuff.

Gillian: And then they go home. And then they work some more at home and then they go to bed.

Rachel: Aren’t you forgetting their tea?

Sean: They also speak about stuff. Like how you’re doing at maths and stuff.

Rachel: They say who should go to, like, a new book and how good you’re reading.

Callum: They sleep in the school.

Gillian: No, they don’t. They go home. And they drive their cars. Like the headteacher drives his car to his house. And at the weekend, they write stuff down they want to do with us.

Sean: The P12 teacher normally cycles.

Rachel: I think it takes a lot of work to prepare for school.

Callum: Yeah. When we go home, they speak about should we do this, should we do that.

Gillian: They don’t phone each other, they email. And sometimes they meet up in a restaurant for dinner.

Rachel: The secretary is always in the office, but she goes home for the weekend.

Sean: Our headteacher hurt himself once, because when he was walking, he bumped into the side of the table. He hurt his side.

Gillian: It was the big table.

Callum: On my first day at school I fell over and cracked my head open.

Gillian: There was a hole in the playground with blood in it. And he was like in hostibal (sic).

Rachel: One of our teachers has to have a power nap in the office to recover from teaching us. She has got my brother and he is very naughty.

Gillian: Teachers are probably quite tired sometimes after school.

Sean: Like when they drive in the car. My dad was driving in the car and he fell asleep. But he let go of all of the stuff, so nothing happened. My mum woke him up. I think it’s stressful being a teacher. You always have to say “do this” and “do that”.

Gillian: I met my brother’s teacher once. She was going into the garden centre and we were coming out and she was with her boyfriend. Her fiance. It was strange. I had to giggle quite a lot. My brother saw her, and he just walked past, because it was his teacher.

Sean: I saw this teacher, and I just walked past her, and she didn’t even notice me.
