Labour and Conservatives opposed to lowering the voting age to 16

* The two main election protagonists in Britain - Labour and the Conservatives - remain opposed to lowering the voting age to 16, Children in Scotland points out.

All the others believe the move would engage young peoplein political processes and encourage decision-making.

The national children's agency wants parties to tackle children's rights, child poverty, the needs of families in rural or remote areas and parental leave.
