Nearly three-quarters of the teachers in charge of continuing professional development (CPD) in schools are unaware of the options that should be available to staff, according to a study for the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA). The survey of 1,500 heads, deputies and others with responsibility for CPD found that nine out of 10 believed lack of time was a major barrier to arranging training. The TDA, which commissioned the survey from the National Foundation for Educational Research, runs an online directory of advice for co-ordinators.
