The British Humanist Association agrees with Professor Brighouse that the admissions policies of faith schools should change. However, the professor is wrong that understanding about different beliefs is best served by faith schools, however inclusive they might be. Every state-funded school is required to teach RE, but while in community schools children can learn about different religious and non-religious beliefs in a balanced syllabus, state-funded faith schools can teach that only a certain worldview is true.
