A globalised economy and increased mobility of labour create job opportunities for young people with foreign language skills. Languages Mean Business (Ein Busnes yw Ieithoedd) is a bilingual CD-Rom for students of 16+, giving examples of how this is happening in Wales. It uses interviews and video footage featuring employees from five companies including BP, Cardiff International Airport and the Wales Tourist Board.
They demonstrate how their knowledge of languages is used in their work both at home and abroad. The CD-Rom updates itself by providing links to websites. Languages Mean Business is free to schools in Wales or costs pound;15 from CILT Cymru www.ciltcymru.org.uk
