Languages loss

Teenagers are giving up on French and German lessons ,with less than half of 16-year-olds in inner city schools studying a language, according to the Office for Standards in Education.

It said that there was new evidence schools were cutting back modern languages, after pupils were allowed to drop the subject at 14.
