Business and university experts have scrutinised the language and enterprise skills of pupils from 11 Glasgow secondary schools.

The International Job Centre event at the city’s Palace of Arts last week was designed to encourage young people to improve their ability to speak a foreign language in a business setting. Pupils had to work with adverts, CVs, job applications and carry out interview skills, all in the language they studied at school.

Their work was assessed by a panel including Brian Templeton, a senior modern languages lecturer at Glasgow University, and Sarah Montgomery, project delivery manger for the British Council Scotland.

The event was supported by the Determined to Succeed programme, which helps to prepare young people for the world of work and beyond.
