A notable omission in your report of those in FE who were honoured in the Queen’s birthday honours list (TES, June 20) was Graham Hoyle OBE, the chief executive of the Association of Learning Providers.

Undoubtedly this honour is in recognition of Graham’s 40 years of service for both the public and private sectors in skills and welfare-to-work.

Leaders of independent work-based and vocational learning providers also know that work-based learning is now unreservedly recognised as a fully integrated part of the FE system, making a vital contribution to shaping and advancing the Government’s skills agenda.
