SADLY, OFSTED won’t be taking on the new inspection of standards in school dinners. Jonathon quashes that one: HMIs will not be tasting the soup or checking the saltiness of the stew on tours of the kitchens.

“OFSTED inspectors do sit down to school dinners with pupils and teachers,” says Jonathan. “But that’s part of getting the feel of the ethos of the school.” Looks like that scrap will be thrown to some other agency.
