I would like to draw readers’ attention to a misprint that appeared in the article “Put the ball in the pupils’ court” (TESS, June 22).

In reporting on the discussion I had with a group of 16-year-old pupils about what makes a good teacher and an effective school, the article stated that the pupils compared the more relaxed approach they were experiencing in S5 with the more “didactic” approach experienced in P7.

In fact, the article should have stated that the pupils were making the comparison with the less “didactic” approach they had experienced in P7.

This does, of course, alter the meaning quite considerably.
