IT appears there is nothing new in education. I recently discovered the school logbook for 1909-44. There were nine staff in 1919 for 240 pupils. But on June 30, five staff left. On July 1: “The chairman of the managers, Dr Langley, on being informed of the state of affairs, gave instructions for the school to be closed until further notice” It reopened on October 22.
