WE have a shortage of primary teachers with foreign-language competence, but so do the French. Why not negotiate a deal with the French (once we have started talking to them again) about twinning our primary schools? The most obvious benefit would be the possibility of exchanging staff from time to time, but internet links between the children would be another.
