It was a pity that Pat Collarbone omitted to point out in her think piecenbsp;column last week that the Leadership Incentive Grant is not available tonbsp;most schools.
It would appear that it is only given to schools in education action zones or those that achieve less than 30 per centnbsp;A-Cs at GCSE.
It would therefore seem to be an incentive to underachieve!nbsp; The school at which I am governor which gets about average numbers of 5nbsp;A-C grades with a below average intake is not eligible for this grant.
Four extra members of staff or their equivalent could lift a school to perform superbly.
