How sweet of Harry Brighouse ("Rigours of right and wrong",nbsp;April 6) to notice that "getting children to act" on their knowledge is important.
Let's see, now, is it philosophers with the track record for action? Or is it people from religious and activist political traditions?
Religious education and citizenship are parts of the statutory curriculum and we all should also be trained to develop pupils morally, socially, spiritually and culturally. Why should the philosophical empire-builders want to introduce yet another academic discipline to teacher training? Let philosophers join in the training in RE and the other subjects we already do.
