Letters Extra: Support staff earn less than the TES says

I would like to point out that the pound;18,000 per annum salary for Gloucestershire learning support workers (Union TES Survey, 25 November) is based upon a 37-hour week and a 48-week year. In practice the maximum hours worked are 32.5 and for a 39 week year. This substantially reduces the pay per annum as quoted in your article to pound;11,600 (approx).
