Letters extra: willing librarians

I would encourage anyone going on teaching practice or teaching observation to make themselves known to the school librarian if they are lucky enough to be placed in a school that employs one.

I do my best to make myself known to students coming on teaching practice as there is no regular arrangement for them to be introduced to the facilities. Yesterday, I spent half an hour showing two student teachers our resources - not just print but networked resources and some internet subscription services. I offered to give them further help in locating resources and developing ideas for use in the classroom. I am sure other school librarians would be willing to give this kind of help.
