Winchester College has topped the independent schools’ A-level league table, according to figures published by the Independent Schools Information Service.

Winchester, in Hampshire, came ahead of Westminster School, Haberdashers’ Aske’s School, Borehamwood, and St Paul’s, London. Students at all four schools scored an average of more than three A grades each. The point score across the independent sector rose by nearly one per cent.
