In 1995 the Geography 16-19 Curriculum Support Project organised conferences for students following all geography A-level syllabuses. Based on the success of these, a further programme of courses for teachers and students of all yllabuses has been planned.

One-day conferences are to be held in 199697 in London and Chesterfield. The students’ conferences are: “The Challenge of Physical Geography”; “The Challenge of Urbanisation”; and “Modern Geographies in the Developing World”. Lecturers have been selected for their specialist knowledge, as well as their ability to communicate effectively with A-level students.

One-day teachers’ conferences, “Teaching A-level Geography”, will provide the latest advice on teaching, resourcing and assessing the new A-level syllabuses.
