How good it was to see the article “Search engineers” (TES, Online, June 18). As the article says “Every school should have one” but unfortunately not all schools have a well-qualified information professional.
Some schools which do have one are not properly aware of the person’s skills. Although most school librarians will do all they can to get involved in the curriculum it is sometimes extremely difficult to get accepted. We belong everywhere but nowhere, or so it can seem.
Enlightened teaching staff know that their best friend could be their librarian - your article will have convinced many more that here is a fantastic resource ready and waiting for them to use.
