A bid for Pounds 50 million of lottery funds to connect all public libraries to the information superhighway was made this week to the Millennium Commission. The Library Asociation and the Library and Information Commission have formed a non-profit making company, Information for All, to organise the bid, which they say will prevent the country from developing an “information underclass”.
