Library use boosts literacy, shows study

Research by the National Literacy Trust shows that 18 per cent of young people who use public libraries are above-average readers, compared with 9.5 per cent of those who do not use a library. The study of 17,089 pupils aged eight to 16 found that more than one-third of those who used libraries believed it would help them do better at school.
