(Photograph) - Helen Liddell, the Education Minister, spent last Friday “opening doors to education”.
Mrs Liddell’s first visit was to a state-of-the-art learning centre at Fife College (right), a Pounds 930,000 conversion of one of Kirkcaldy’s best-known industrial landmarks - a former linoleum and munitions factory.
Joyce Johnston, Fife College’s principal, said the Nairn Centre would allow students “to structure their own learning process, using a range of methods from traditional class-based teaching to electronic means, together with specially written learning packages and dedicated tutor support”.
Mrs Liddell also opened a new campus for Glenrothes College on the north side of the town. The building will house the college’s office technology and business and management sections.
