The last South Lanarkshire council elections saw several well-known Labour councillors defeated by campaigners on local issues, not least the doomed attempt to save Earnock High in Hamilton.
We now learn that one of those “independents” has joined the SNP, leaving two others - an Earnock man and a crematorium councillor.
