AROUND half of all children risk a lifetime of back problems caused by poorly designed classrooms and bad posture in front of computer screens. A Surrey University study of 11 to 14-year-olds in Surrey and the North-west found that 49 per cent had complained of neck pain in the previous month and 39 per cent of lower back pain. Peter Buckle, professor of ergonomics, said: “The workforce of tomorrow is already damaged before starting the rigous of adult life.”
