Children aged 5 to 12 can find out how light bulbs and plugs work in a new exhibition at La Cite des Sciences, the interactive science park in Paris.

Exhibits include a miniature city showing the ways we use electricity, hands-on models revealing how it is produced, and a “Theatre of Inventions”, which tells the stories behind inventors’ discoveries and how they led to such household objects as batteries and telephones.

Daily workshops and teachers’ notes available. Admission is about Pounds 6. Details: Cite des Sciences et de l’Industrie, 30 avenue Corentin, Cariou, 75930 Paris. Tel: 00 40 05 70 00.
