Listening GTC needs support

Why are there professionals who are so tunnel-visioned that they will not support initiatives and cannot see how the little extra time offered may enthuse and regenerate our profession?

The GTC, if utilised, should help with this but if denigrated from the outset then we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

Although I agree that funding is still inappropriate, and training needs to be enhanced, I know through the work I do with the Teacher Training Agency, National College for School Leadership and the Department for Education and Skills that there is a lot of good work being done to support the further development of our workforce.

I also know that the GTC listens when we give it the opportunity to do so.

We should ask “What can I do to support this work?”
