Literacy support

The web can be a great source of information but still remains largely text-based, which means that 7 million Britons with literacy problems are disadvantaged, claims Texthelp Systems, which produces literacy support tools. Products such as ReadWrite, Screenreader, PDF-aloud and Browsealoud feature text to speech, phonetic spell-checkers, word prediction and speaking dictionaries. Texthelp software also supports word processors, email, spreadsheets and databases, on Windows or Mac.
