A SCHEME to help children struggling at school has been launched in Liverpool. The first of five primary support centres designed to help youngsters who are falling behind, having difficulties mixing with other pupils, or who may have been off school for long periods, opened this week. The centres are fully equipped mini-schools staffed with specialist teachers and support staff, providing intense support for groups of 12 children from local schools over a half term. The project is funded through the city council’s Excellence in Liverpool scheme.
